The YubiKey Bio Series adds biometric authentication to hardware security - a built-in fingerprint reader lets you authenticate with a touch, with no PIN required. Designed for FIDO2 and WebAuthn only, the Bio Series is ideal for passwordless login workflows in modern identity environments.

Available in USB-A and USB-C form factors. Works with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Okta, and any service supporting FIDO2 passwordless authentication.

Note: The YubiKey Bio Series supports FIDO2/WebAuthn only - it does not support OTP, Smart Card/PIV, or OpenPGP. If you need multi-protocol support, the YubiKey 5 Series is the better choice.

It's a hardware security key that provides phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA). Instead of typing a code or approving a push notification, you plug it in or tap it via NFC to prove it's really you, using FIDO2/WebAuthn cryptography that can't be intercepted or replayed.

It's a one-time hardware purchase (from $62.50 NZD) that replaces an entire category of ongoing risk. Unlike SMS or app-based codes, it can't be phished, SIM-swapped, or man-in-the-middled, so the cost reflects security hardware built to a standard, not a subscription or consumable.

If you use SMS codes or authenticator apps today, a YubiKey closes the biggest remaining gap: phishing. Anyone handling sensitive accounts (email, banking, admin/IT access, crypto) gets the most benefit, but it's increasingly recommended as a baseline for any business account.
