We're excited to share that Trust Panda New Zealand is officially open for business, and the news has already caught the attention of the industry. SecurityBrief New Zealand, one of the country's leading publications for CISOs and cybersecurity decision-makers, covered our Auckland launch today.
As SecurityBrief reported, we've opened a local New Zealand entity with YubiKey stock on the ground in Auckland, giving Kiwi businesses and government agencies something they've been asking for: a dedicated local supplier who actually knows the product.
Why we launched here
We've been building our YubiKey practice for years across Australia, the US, and Europe. Throughout that time, New Zealand kept coming up. Customers were importing keys, dealing with cross-border purchasing complications, and navigating product selection without specialist guidance. That wasn't good enough, so we fixed it.
Trust Panda New Zealand stocks the full Yubico range, including the YubiKey 5 Series, YubiKey Bio Series, Security Key Series, and YubiHSM 2. We serve individual buyers through to enterprise and public sector, and we're equipped to support large-scale rollouts with the deployment expertise to back them up.
The timing matters
The SecurityBrief piece touches on something we see every day: the threat landscape has shifted. AI has made phishing attacks faster, cheaper, and more convincing. The SMS and app-based MFA that most organisations rely on wasn't built to withstand that level of sophistication.
At the same time, New Zealand's own Information Security Manual requires MFA for privileged account access, with controls matched to system risk profiles. There's real regulatory momentum here, and organisations need a clear path to phishing-resistant authentication, not just a box to tick.
YubiKeys solve this at the hardware level. The cryptographic response is bound to the legitimate domain, so it doesn't matter how convincing a fake login page looks. The attack simply doesn't work.
What this means for New Zealand buyers
Local stock means shorter delivery times and no cross-border complications. A local entity means straightforward procurement for government and enterprise buyers. And our team brings the same depth of YubiKey expertise we've built across hundreds of deployments in multiple markets, whether you're a small business securing a handful of accounts or a large agency rolling out across an entire workforce.
